At 17 years of age I was fortunate enough to receive a Track & Field scholarship through the Victorian Institute of Sport. Prior to receiving this scholarship, I had never been on a strength and conditioning program and I had only been undertaking some body weight exercises as part of my training.
Being a new VIS scholarship holder & being in the middle of transitioning from a junior to senior athlete, I was incredibly thankful to have Nathan take me on as my strength and conditioning coach. Nathan taught me all the basic principles and fundamentals of lifting & provided me with a comprehensive, long jump specific strength and conditioning program. The strength and conditioning programs I completed whilst working with Nathan, together with his expertise in delivering detailed feedback reflected some substantial improvements in my speed, power and strength which in turn resulted in some significant improvements in my overall long jump distances.
