MAS RACE PREDICTION CALCULATORS

The Maximal Aerobic Speed Race Prediction Calculator includes TWO expertly devised race prediction calculators:

  1. MAS RACE PREDICTION CALCULATOR – Excel based calculator comparing VDOT to the TCC MAS Model
  2. MAS RACE ENGINE – Interactive HTML calculator & slider comparing VDOT to the TCC MAS Model

The Maximal Aerobic Speed Race Prediction Calculator and the MAS Race Engine uses your Maximal Aerobic Speed (MAS) to generate accurate, physiologically-grounded race predictions for 2km, 5km, 10km, half marathon, and marathon. Built on Jack Daniels’ VDOT framework and TCC’s proprietary MAS model.

Two prediction models are displayed side by side – 1) the internationally recognised Daniels VDOT model and 2) the TCC MAS Model, which applies research-validated MAS percentages developed through years of coaching practice. This allows you to compare both, whilst acknowledging that the practical application of the Daniel’s VDOT predictions can be too aggressive and fast for athletes and runners alike. Trust the data and make smarter race prediction decisions.

The calculator is an interactive HTML tool — no app download, no subscription, no internet connection required. Open it in any browser, enter a MAS value, and the predictions update in real time as you adjust the slider.

FAQ

What is MAS and how do I measure it?

MAS (Maximal Aerobic Speed) is the minimum speed at which VO2max is reached. It can be measured using a range of field tests including the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test, Vameval, or time trial protocols. Once you have an athlete’s MAS, enter it into the calculator in km/h or m/s.

How accurate are the predictions?

Predictions are based on the well-validated Daniels VDOT model and TCC’s applied MAS model. They represent physiologically sound estimates for well-trained athletes. Individual performance may vary based on event-specific preparation, pacing, and conditions.

What distances does it cover?

The calculator generates predictions for 2km, 5km, 10km, half marathon (21.1km), and marathon (42.2km) — covering the full range from time trial to road race performance.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. The calculator is a standalone HTML file that runs entirely in your browser. Once you have the file, it works anywhere — no internet, no app, no account required.

Is this a single-user licence?

Yes. Each purchase includes a single-user licence for one coach. The tool is locked with a unique licence key issued at the time of purchase.

What range of MAS values does it support?

The calculator supports MAS values from 10 km/h to 24 km/h (2.78 m/s to 6.67 m/s), covering recreational through to elite-level aerobic capacity.
