Description

Nathan is regularly engaged by professional sporting teams, National and State sport institutes, sub-elite sporting clubs and the Australia Strength and Conditioning Association to provide his Strength and Conditioning and Sport Science expertise to review current practices, provide program recommendations and educate both established and aspiring coaches and practicioners. As such, Nathan has vast experience delivering a wide variety of conditioning presentations, which improve the attendees ability to not only understand the underpinning theory but practically apply it with their respective sports and athletes.

The Anaerobic Speed Reserve concept is one which Nathan has pioneered with his original research The efficacy of utilising the anaerobic speed reserve to prescribe supramaximal high intensity interval training, which was one of the first studies to investigate the utilisation of ASR to improve high intensity interval training prescription. Since then, Nathan has published further ASR research, whilst also extensively applying the concept with a wide variety of sports and athletes.

The Anaerobic Speed Reserve concept is a relatively new concept within strength and conditioning and sport science, which means that it is often misapplied by coaches and practitioners. The ASR webinar will assist coaches and practitioners with understanding the nuances of ASR, whilst also outlining how it can be accurately and effectively applied with teams, sports and athletes of all levels and abilities.

The webinar covered the following topics:

– What is Anaerobic Speed Reserve (ASR)
– How do you measure ASR?
– What is ASR used for?
– HIIT considerations
– HIIT Types
– Supramaximal HIIT & Anaerobic HIIT (MAS vs. MAS + %ASR)
– MAS + ASR application with elite sport
– MAS + ASR application with sub-elite sport
– Where does Supramaximal HIIT & Anaerobic HIIT fit within conditioning periodisation?
– Q&A at the end of the webinar

ASR WEBINAR – Recorded on Wednesday 20th July 2022.

Please note that there are accompanying ASR Spreadsheets available to purchase – TCC ASR SPREADSHEETS. These spreadsheets enable you to accurately and seamlessly determine session prescription and conditioning groups using MAS + %ASR, which based on my experience is problematic for most coaches and practitioners. If you’re keen to purchase the spreadsheets, click on the hyperlink above or head to the TCC shop.

The webinar was delivered via Zoom and spanned 90 minutes with 15 min of attendee Q&A at the completion of the formal presentation. The webinar will be available to view for three months from the date of the purchase.
